O campaign ur will overcome Trump's 'blatant lies', Kamala Harris
US Vice
President Kamala Harris has admitted that while defeating Donald Trump will be
a difficult process, she also said that this new presidential campaign will
overcome the Republican candidate's "relentless lies".
According to
the news agency AFP, in a speech at a fund-raising event in the American state
of Massachusetts, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris said that in
this election race, "we are the weak party, but this campaign has the
power of the people."
He said that
'Donald Trump is resorting to blatant lies about me. And what he and his
partner are saying is totally strange.
Republican
candidate Donald Trump has accused Kamala Harris of wanting to legalize the
killing of newborn babies while the vice president is pro-abortion.
Kamala
Harris has also been speaking in support of abortion rights in her election
campaign, while the conservative justices nominated by Donald Trump to the
Supreme Court took this right away from women in 2022 and declared the practice
illegal.
Kamala
Harris has challenged Donald Trump to take part in one more presidential debate
and challenge her.
"Hopefully
he (Donald Trump) will consider it because we have a lot of things to talk
about," the vice president said.
On the other
hand, Donald Trump wrote on the social media platform Truth Social on Saturday
that he will continue to participate in election rallies held in open places
and that the Secret Service has agreed to speed up its operations.
He further
wrote, "No one can be allowed to prevent or obstruct the freedom of
expression or assembly."
Donald
Trump's campaign narrative always mentions the assassination incident. The
Republican candidate tells his supporters that he has 'taken the bullet for
democracy.'
Kamala
Harris faces a challenger who has been campaigning for re-election since taking
office in 2016.
After Joe Biden withdrew from the presidential race, former President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle Obama have announced their support for Kamala Harris.
Can a black woman
become president of the United States?
The
possibility of a Black woman becoming the president of America is increasingly
likely given the evolving social and political landscape. Kamala Harris, the
current Vice President, has already made history as the first woman, Black
person, and person of South Asian descent to hold the office of Vice President.
Her position and the support she garners
reflect a significant shift in the country's readiness for diverse leadership.
Moreover, her potential to become the Democratic nominee for President in the
future indicates that America may indeed elect a Black woman as president [5].
