Chasing 160
runs, the Netherlands could only manage 134 runs for the loss of eight wickets
in the allotted 20 overs at the Anosville Ground on Thursday.
Cybrand
Engelbrecht was outstanding for the Netherlands with 35 runs.
Vikramjeet
Singh 26, captain Scott Edwards 25, Michael Levitt 18, Max O'Dodd 12, Logan van
Beek two, Tim Pringle one and Boss de Led were out for zero while Aryan Dutt
returned to the pavilion not out after scoring 15 runs.
For
Bangladesh, Rashad Hussain took three wickets, Tasin Ahmed took two wickets,
Mustafizur Rehman, Rasghan Hasan Saqib and Mohammad Allah took one wicket each.
Earlier,
Bangladesh scored 159 runs for the loss of five wickets in the allotted 20
overs while playing first on the invitation of Netherlands.
On behalf of
Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan remained unbeaten by playing a brilliant innings of
64 runs, while Jakar Ali returned to the pavilion with 14 runs not out.
Tanzeed
Hasan 35, Tweed Herodi nine, Mohammadullah 25, Najam Hussain Shantu and Laton
Doss were out with one run each.
Aryan Dutt
and Paul van Meekeren took two wickets each while Tim Prinkel took one wicket
for the Netherlands.
The match
was supposed to start at 7:30 PM according to Pakistani time, but due to rain,
the toss could not be held at the scheduled time.
Both the
teams were facing each other for the first time in this event.
Earlier,
Bangladesh won one of their two matches against Sri Lanka while they lost
against South Africa.
After this victory, Bangladesh has moved to the first position in Group D with four points
