Iran launched dozens of drones and missiles at Israel on Saturday in response to the attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus.

Robert Wood, the American representative in the Security Council, warned that "Iran will be responsible if Iran or its proxies take action against the United States or if further action is taken against Israel."

He added that Iran's "irresponsible actions" pose threats not only to the population of Israel but also to other UN member states in the region, including Jordan and Iraq.

The American diplomat said that the Security Council has the responsibility to hold Iran accountable for its actions.

The Israeli delegate compared Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei to Germany's Hitler and said that he attacked Saudi Arabia, Aramco oil facilities and the United Arab Emirates to establish a Shia hegemony in the world. He sees it as an obstacle to his goal.'

He called on the Security Council to "impose sanctions on Iran before it is too late."
